I have a large collection of fortunes from fortune cookies. They are often ambiguous, profound and strange. They are like art in that their meanings are subjective and internally processed on the part of the viewer.

So, ideas are always trickling around, knocking about, gelling and gestating. I have been thinking a lot about the role of art in political life, and how my art may or may not, but perhaps could play a part. I was washing dishes, including a tinfoil catering tray, when the words on the bottom of the tray struck me as profound. What if we really did “always support the bottom?”
